el piso mio

So now that I am finally situtated and the place is finally clean! I though I would give all of you a tour of my "cozy" piso. It won't let me rearrange the pictures after uploading them, so bare with me, as some are a little out of order :/. I live in the Eixample neighborhood of Barcelona. Directly across the street from me is the historic Hospital San Pau. If you walk about 5 blocks down the diagonal "Avinguida de Gaudi" you will arrive at his famous and unfinished masterpiece La Sagrada Familia. So while my place may be small, the price is resonable and the location very central!
This is the view from my window. Not much to brag about. However, this is common of buildings in the Eixmaple district, to have small courtyard spaces in the middle of buildings. Clearly my neighbors and I are very cozy!

This is the view from our balcony on the other side of the house, attached to the living room. Look, you can see to the Mediterranean!

This is the ugly (but necessary) modern addition to the Hospital San Pau across the street. It is currently under construction and can get a little noisy at times. Luckily I sleep on the opposite side of the flat.

This is the historic and beautiful Hospital San Pau. Good to know if I ever have an accident...

This is my bed! Back to a twin bed dorm style! I have closets on either side and ample storage space. I put up pics of my friends and family as well as the infamous poster to make me feel more at home. I just bought a fabulous IKEA comforter to brave the winter months w/o heating.

This is the view of my room from the door. I have a desk and a lamp that I cannot find a lightbulb to fit in it to save my life! I bought the ikea tree for my necklaces! The shelf space is great as well. And yes, that is a Christmas tree int he background

Here's a view of our sink/cupboards in the kitchen. To your right (and out of sight) is our refridgerator. It's hard to fit more tan 2 people in here at a time! And no dishwasher...

Here's the kitchen view from the door. To your right is the washing machine not the dishwasher.

Our bathroom! It's so teeny! It doesn't even have a real door...it's an accordian one...lol. I had some trouble with the showerhead int he beginning, but I have finally mastered it.

Our living/dining room! Complete with our coach/futon. We have a nice TV and DVD player (not pictured).

The lighting is bad in this one but it is to show you that the living room leads to the balcony.

Well now ladies and gentleman our tour is complete. If you dare try international mail, my address is:
